Our Boxers...

I'm Jo Tammaro and I am based in Broadstairs, Kent. I have owned and loved boxers for a number of years. I fell in love with the breed from an early age having grown up with them. Even though all boxers are special, there's always one that holds a special place in your heart, and for me that was Buster, our family dog, who came to us as a year old apparently uncontrollable lunatic but was in fact the most loving dog I have ever known. He lived to a ripe old age and was such an important part of the family. I still remember the day he left us, over 20 years ago, and from then on I was biding my time til the right circumstances arrived and I could get my very own.

Dylan, my big red boy, arrived as an 8 week old pup back in 2003. He's the quietest member of the household and is thoroughly bossed around by the 2 girls! Dylan loves everyone and everyone loves Dylan, he's such a softy and will do anything for a scratch on the bum!

In 2005, I felt it was time to add to the family and was put in touch with a litter where I found Tia. I was particularly wanting a darkish brindle and Tia was it. She was the tiniest of the bunch and as such was bottle fed, so she was sat on my lap, together with a bottle of milk and from that point there was no going back! Tia is boss lady of our house. Tia's breeding is lovely - Diceulon Any Which Strike x CH Tartarian Gold Dust. She's a real character, very cheeky and a brilliant escape artist.

In 2007, I realised that with time on my hands now that the children were less demanding, I quite fancied the idea of another pup. This time I was planning to start showing and was looking for a show quality pup. I was put in touch with Nicky Clarke of Haygina, and on January 2nd 2008, Lola arrived in the Tammaro household!! We've now been showing for just over a year and are enjoying every minute of it! At our 3rd ever championship show we qualified for Crufts 2010.

A huge thanks must go to Lola's breeder, Nickly Clarke, for her help, advice and encouragement. Also to Sue, Sandra and Linda who have helped me no end! You can never have enough advice!
